The purpose of this journal is for me to be able to engage more with the work of photography. I am still inept from a technical perspective, though I continue to learn more about my cameras and analogue photography in general the more I participate in it. I have no expectations from the journal, or from photography overall, but I continue to be passionate about the process. Instead of simply uploading the images to this portfolio and storing them in the two respective categories, I want to be able to take the time to think on the ones I enjoy, and why that might be the case.
Ultimately, I continue to abstain from calling myself a photographer and am merely someone who enjoys taking photographs, (the distinction between the two is still not apparent to me). In any case, these pictures often depict things and places I truly value, and I feel that the aforementioned process of simply uploading pictures does them a disservice rather than myself.
